Our bungalow carries the legacy of Mr. Johannas Abenayake, a respected Senior Village Headman from 1926 to 1956. His service to the community was honored in 1954 with a medal from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
Originally set on 175 perches of land known as Maha Okanda Kele in Gonagala Pura, Bentota, the bungalow was built in true Sinhalese architectural style, elevated above the surrounding cinnamon and coconut plantations.

We spent 2 nights with our family from the 7th to 9th February. The bungalow was warm and welcoming. The rooms, bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The highlight of the place was the garden which was very spacious and well-maintained. We had a mini birthday party. The staff was friendly. Overall it was a memorable experience .

We had a wonderful time at Headmans Bungalow Bentota for the long weekend, peaceful location with a nice clean pool, well maintained garden which the kids loved. There are 5 rooms with Air Conditioning all in good working condition, the caretaker Nadeeka prepared simple but tasty meals according our requests and was very efficient. Its a nice location we would surely recommend to friends.

Convenient location close to A2 Road. Very pleasant and helpful caretaker at the property. All rooms with functioning air-conditioners, clean and tidy washrooms. Ample and secure parking at the property. They setup bbq by the pool side. Can get any type of food prepared in short notice. Value for money.
